MCOG Tours Willits and Laytonville November 5

Laytonville tour
November 5, 2018: Our tour group celebrates completion of the Branscomb Road Pedestrian/Multi-Use Bridge over Ten Mile Creek. MCOG invested over $1 million in this structure along with County of Mendocino's funds, to connect several other safe walking and cycling routes funded over the past several years.

October 29, 2018: Mendocino Council of Governments (MCOG) will meet in Willits on Monday, November 5 for its annual tour of transportation plans and projects in local communities. The Council will take a bus tour of downtown Willits plans and projects at 9:30 a.m., led by Caltrans staff.

Another tour segment will start at approximately 11:00 a.m. in Laytonville, led by County staff. There will be stops for brief walks at project locations. After lunch at the Laytonville Fire Department, the Council will hold its regular meeting there, at 44950 Willis Avenue in Laytonville.

Interested community members are welcome to join the tour on a space-available basis. While seating on the bus is limited, those interested may contact MCOG at 463-1859 for a reservation, subject to availability. The itinerary can be found on the agenda.

All are invited to attend the Council meeting at 1:00 p.m. for discussion, public expression, and reports. The agenda may be viewed at Laytonville Fire Department or online at All MCOG meetings are open to the public.

MCOG formed as a joint powers agreement in 1972, as mandated by state law, to disburse state and federal funds for transportation, to provide regional planning, and to serve as a regional forum. MCOG is overseen by a board consisting of two county supervisors, a countywide public appointee, and one council member from each of the four incorporated cities. For more information, call the MCOG office at 463‐1859 or consult the agency's web site at
